Milwaukee COAA Board Meeting ...

The third COAA Board meeting of the year was conducted at the recent organ rally at the Germanfest celebration in Milwaukee, WI.

Some of the topics covered included:

  • Posting COAA Board meeting minutes and other official business on the COAA website after they have been approved by the Board.
  • Encourage a  workshop or seminar at COAA organ rallies.
  • Provide an incentive for local hosts or organ rallies; also, to recognize the hosts and sponsors of rallies (parks, amusement venues, etc.)
  • Officially recognize member Andy Adams for donating six Wurlitzer rolls which were auctioned with proceeds to the COAA treasurer
  • Discussed COAA sanctioning an organ rally in St. Paul, MN in celebration of the 100th anniversary of PTC #33.
  • Discussed ways to increase advertising revenue. Revenues doubled from the winter to the spring editions.
  • Changing the renewal date from June 30 to January 21.
  • Other matters that were discussed:
  • All new members now receive a personal phone call and email welcoming them to COAA by Gary Stevenson, Membership Chair, and Angelo Rulli, President.

Not all matters were resolved. Official results of votes and official business at the meeting will be published on the COAA website and in the autumn edition of the Journal.

With a crowd of over 150,000 in attendance over three days, it was rewarding to see crowds surrounding the carousel organs and cart organs; it was equally fun to see so many of our members engaged in conversation and answering questions during the entire event.

As you can see by the above agenda items, COAA continues to flourish, looking toward the future while offering plenty of opportunities for members to have fun...without which the spirit of COAA would be diminished.

At the Milwaukee meeting the following members were recognized with Certificates of Appreciation for their extraordinary contributions to COAA:
Jim Partick, COAA Insurance Coordinator; Marc and Debe Dannecker, Germanfest Rally Hosts, Danelle and Doug Mauldin, Former Merchandise Coordinators; Jonathon Bopp, Lake Winny Organ Rally; Ted Guillaum, Organ Rally Web Coordinator;  Mike Schoeppner, Former Yahoo Group Coordinator; Gordie Davidson, COAA Webmaster; Bill Dunn, Hosting several COAA open houses; Mike Merrick, Restoration of Wurlitzer 153 for PTC 33 in St. Paul, MN; Our Fair Carousel, non-profit group managing PTC 33.

Members are welcomed and encouraged to respond to any or all of the above. COAA Officers and Leaders want to reflect the wishes of members so that fun, fellowship and music will be in harmony.

Stay in tune,
Angelo
